⁣Is your closet haunted?!

I’m talking about your ghosts of outfits past—the outfits you no longer wear that don’t represent who you are anymore or worse, they keep you embodying a past version of yourself you’ve outgrown.  ⁣

⁣These are clothes you keep that no longer provide a clear function, bring you joy, or enrich your life in any way.

⁣It’s great to keep items that hold sentimental memories or symbolize a special time in your life. But it’s another thing to have a closet that’s overcrowded with clothes that no longer support or represent who you are NOW. ⁣

I get it because my closet used to be haunted AF. I held on to shoes that reminded me of crying on someone’s doorstep, multiple pairs of too-tight jeans I tried to shame myself to fit into & a bajillion cheaply made crop tops I wore to death in college that don’t fit my style now.

⁣I got rid of these because they symbolized chapters of my life that I was ready to fully move on from. I agree with Marie Kondo—your clothes should spark joy. Period!

⁣If anything in your closet reminds you of negative memories, doesn’t feel true to you anymore or is forgotten collecting dust, it’s time to lovingly part ways & donate it—giving both you & your items a fresh start.⁣

Here are a few qualifying questions to help you start your outfit ghostbusting:

  1. When was the last time you wore this? What do you wear this item with & for what occasion?⁣

  2. If the item is sentimental, are the feelings & memories it evokes positive? If it reminds you of a person, are you on good terms with this person? ⁣

  3. ⁣ Does it make you feel truly joyful? Do you feel great wearing it?⁣

  4. ⁣ Imagine the best version of yourself⁣. Would she wear this? ⁣

As time goes on, we inevitably grow, change & evolve. In order for us to have an authentic personal style that accurately reflects who we are today, our closets must naturally evolve with us. ⁣

What ghosts in your closet are you ready to bust? I can help you detox your closet & discover a style that reflects the amazing person you are now.
